The energy transition is happening. Across the world we are seeing radical shifts in how we produce our energy, and how we use. Energy democracy has come to the American household in the form of new products like electric vehicles and affordable solar panels. Products like these provide us with energy independence, more money in our wallets, and a healthier future. This is the new face of energy.

Why we joined the Drawdown Coalition
April 24, 2018
We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with fellow nonprofit Project Drawdown by joining the Drawdown Coalition—a growing network of over 200 researchers, business leaders, policy makers, and solution implementers working towards the most comprehensive plan ever proposed to reverse global warming: Drawdown.
What’s “Drawdown”?
“Drawdown” is three things: a scientific term, a book, and a nonprofit organization.
The term comes from climatology and describes the point at which carbon levels in the atmosphere start declining. The book, Drawdown, a New York Times bestseller last year, is a thoroughly-researched compilation of the 100 most substantive, existing solutions to achieve the point of “drawdown” in our atmosphere. The organization, named Project Drawdown, has begun assembling a coalition whose members are researching, communicating, disseminating, and leveraging Project Drawdown’s research, with an aim toward accelerating the implementation of solutions worldwide.
How Does Generation180 Fit In?
Project Drawdown’s research and modeling shows that many of the top solutions are ones dependant on the behavior of ordinary people like you—including rooftop solar, electric vehicles, LED lighting, and plant-rich diets.
The data is clear: your energy matters, everyday people are accelerating the transition to a healthier, clean energy future, and you can help us reach “drawdown” faster thanks to new and better energy choices.
Stay tuned for more developments as we begin our work alongside hundreds of partners working toward a better energy future within the Drawdown Coalition.
