Back to School with Clean Energy
Clean Energy for All Webinar:
Back to School with the Sierra Club.
It’s time for all Pennsylvania schools to add clean energy to their back-to-school supply list!
Through the significant funding available from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), along with other federal and state programs, every Pennsylvania student now has the chance to head to school in an electric bus and learn in a classroom powered by clean energy. And YOU can help bring those funds to your local schools! Join Sierra Club and Generation180 for the next installment of the Clean Energy for All Education & Action Series to find out how.
We’ll review the funding available, hear from local school leaders who have put these monies into practice, and learn how parents and community members can be part of their school’s clean energy transformation. Don’t be too cool for school, register today!
Presenter: Mick Iskric, Superintendent, Steelton-Highspire School District
Generation180’s School Leadership in Clean Energy (SLICE) network member Mick Iskric will share his district’s story. As the Superintendent of Steelton-Highspire School District, Mick leads the district in energy independence—powering its schools with 100% clean energy with a 1.6MW solar system housed on a former landfill. Additionally, Steelton-Highspire’s bus fleet is 100% electric, making it the first school district in Pennslyvania to electrify its school buses and charge them with 100% clean energy.
