Tell Your Lawmakers to Support our Clean Energy Future
Most Americans (67%) think the U.S. should prioritize the development of renewable energy, such as wind and solar energy, over fossil fuel sources, according to a recent Pew survey. Fortunately, in 2022, Congress passed landmark legislation to support these and other clean energy technologies through the Inflation Reduction Act (clean energy law), the largest ever investment in climate progress. The clean energy law mandates $370 Billion in spending on clean energy infrastructure that will help lower energy costs for consumers, drive innovation,support public and electric transportation, reduce climate-harming air pollution, and improve public health.
They mean real savings, good jobs, and a better quality of life for everyday Americans.
But passing this clean energy law isn’t enough to get us there. In addition to continuing to deploy IRA funding, we need an array of new legislation that address the constraints related to implementation of existing policies such as supply chain, trade, and permitting challenges. We must continue supporting pro-clean energy policies and transition away from our dependence on fossil fuels.
