Diana Sweeney has over 35 years of work experience with a focus on sustainability and assisting state and local agencies in the development of guidance standards and sustainable procedures. She currently works as the Energy Management Specialist at the Howard County Public School System, helping to expand its conservation strategies and overseeing the range of energy efficiency and implementation programs. The school system opened Wilde Lake Middle School in 2017 as the first net-zero school in Maryland supplied with a 633 kW solar array.
