Gretchen Brandt is Vice President and Co-Chair of the Facilities and Grounds committee in the State College Area School District in State College, PA. The district recently completed five LEED Gold/Platinum certified buildings and is the lead entity in a Solar Power Purchase Agreement for the central region of Pennsylvania. The project will prevent the release of about 10,000 metric tons of carbon each year over the lifetime of the project. The district’s next steps are to include sustainable design into the district-wide facilities master plan and to transition to electric school buses.
