As the Superintendent of Steelton-Highspire School District, Mick leads the district in energy independence– powering their schools with 100% clean energy with a 1.6MW solar system housed on a former landfill. Additionally, Steelton-Highspire’s bus fleet is 100% electric, making it the first school district in Pennslyvania to electrify its school buses and charge them with 100% clean energy. The solar system provides a learning opportunity for the district’s students, while the electric school buses reduce harmful pollution for the students and the community. As a native to Steelton, Mick is passionate about students reaching their fullest potential and saving the taxpayers money.
