Inspiring K-12 School Leaders

We hosted the first-ever Clean Energy Schools Symposium, bringing together K-12 school leaders to share success stories and best practices for going solar and electrifying school buses. Our School Leadership in Clean Energy (SLICE) network tripled in size this year to over 80 leaders from 23 states!

Solar For All Schools Gets a CGI Spotlight

We were honored on the Clinton Global Initiative Mainstage for our commitment to expand our Solar for All Schools work into 6 new states.

Furthering Solar School Adoption in Pennsylvania

We supported solar schools legislation and enabled 10 MW of solar at PA schools as a result of outreach and technical assistance (about the equivalent of not burning 9.6 million pounds of coal).

Launched Electrify Your Life

We launched a new program, Electrify Your Life, to help Americans tap the benefits of the landmark clean energy law (the Inflation Reduction Act). Our Climate Translator video series educated Americans about IRA clean energy benefits to help them cut costs and electrify.

Released the Your Influence Matters: Peer Influence and EV Adoption Report

Our new national report found that car buyers are more likely to consider an electric vehicle if their neighbors drive one. We presented our findings at the 2023 Behavior, Energy, and Climate Change conference, and garnered international media interest from France, Spain, Germany, and more.

Using Comedy to Change the Narrative

We equipped comedians as ambassadors through our second Climate Comedy Cohort fellowship with CMSI’s GoodLaugh. Our comedians starred in a sold-out NYC live show and created videos in collaboration with Adam McKay’s Yellow Dot Studios.

Climate Comedy Recognized as a Climate Solution

Esteban Gast, Gen180’s Comedian-in-Residence, was honored as a Grist 50 Fixer and hosted five climate comedy panels and events throughout Climate Week NYC. From NPR’s Science Friday to ABC’s Nightline, mainstream media gave climate comedy the attention it deserves.

Helping Thousands Electrify Their Ride

Several new partners, such as Dave Matthews Band, Thumbtack, and Consumer Reports, inspired new audiences to make the switch to electric. Our EV owner network now includes over 6,000 members from nearly all 50 states.

White House Shout Out!

We were recognized by the White House for our National Going Electric Pledge campaign, which garnered over 100k+ pledges, and we awarded Marcus from Plymouth, MN, an electric Ford F-150 as part of our Sweepstakes.

Watt’s Next in 2024

So what’s next for Gen180? Stay tuned for another clean energy sweepstakes, more funny videos about electrification from comedians, an even bigger clean energy ambassador network, and more!
