Generation180’s Work Recognized by the White House

Generation180 is excited to participate in the White House’s EV Acceleration Challenge to speed up the U.S. transition to an electric transportation future. In an announcement last month, the White House highlighted Generation180’s National Going Electric Pledge campaign working to “inspire all Americans to make their next vehicle electric.” Generation180 and REVERB.org will partner on Dave Matthews Band’s upcoming tour to help Gen180 inspire an even larger audience about the pledge at concerts this summer.

What is the EV Acceleration Challenge?

The EV Acceleration Challenge is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and overall goal of having 50% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030. The White House issued a call to action to advocacy groups and other stakeholders asking them to dedicate resources and make commitments to actively support the  historic transition underway to electrify transportation. President Biden’s Investing in America agenda aims to increase domestic manufacturing and supply chains, and “catapult the U.S. into a global leader in clean energy standards while simultaneously creating high quality jobs.”

Generation180’s National Going Electric Pledge campaign

The National Going Electric Pledge campaign is designed to raise awareness about the benefits of driving electric and encourage people to make their next car, truck, or SUV electric. This summer, Generation180 is partnering with REVERB.org to promote the campaign at concerts throughout the Dave Matthews Band’s Summer Tour. By pledging to “make the next vehicle I purchase electric,” signers will be entered in a raffle to receive a brand new all electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck.

“We’ve seen a dramatic increase in public interest in electric vehicles, yet they still only represent a small percentage of the overall US market,” said Stuart Gardner, Director of Generation180’s Electrify Your Life program. “Electric vehicles should top the list for American drivers. They are more fun to drive, require less maintenance and cost less over time than gas cars, and they’re better for the environment. Electric car owners are becoming the mainstream car buyer.”

Generation180 is committed to our mission of accelerating the transition to clean energy and supporting efforts to decarbonize our communities. Sign the Going Electric pledge and join us!
