ELECTRIFY OUR SCHOOLS
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania has one of the largest public education systems in the country, serving 1.7 million students.
Bringing clean energy to Pennsylvania schools would have a positive impact on a generation of future leaders.
Generation180’s campaign is working to ensure that all Pennsylvania schools can access the benefits of clean energy, including reduced energy bills, enhanced STEM education, workforce development, and healthier communities.
PA Votes Yes to Solar for Schools!
Generation180 rallied the support of schools and families across the Commonwealth to support the Solar For Schools Act (HB 1032). In July 2024, the General Assembly passed this law, which will create the state’s first grant program dedicated to helping schools go solar. The Solar For Schools Act will enable more schools to reduce their energy costs, provide hands-on learning and job training opportunities to students, and enjoy greater energy independence and resilience.
